The Road to Damascus

The first part of Acts 9 talks about Saul's journey to Damascus and how he would go there to imprison men and women who spoke of "The Way." On his journey, Jesus appeared to him and asked Saul why he was persecuting him. He told Saul to continue his journey to Damascus, but with a different mission. For the rest of his 3 day journey, Saul was blind. The men traveling with Saul guided him by the hand to Damascus. It wasn't until he arrived that his sight restored by Ananias whom the had Lord sent. Saul (Paul) was now preaching the Gospel everywhere he was.

We too as Christians are on a journey. Sometimes the road we set out for changes along the way as we mature and come closer to our creator. Our final destination was always the same, but it takes on a different direction, a different meaning. Sometimes, like Saul, we are completely blind to the path we are on. We hear the direction of the Lord, but like Saul, we have to rely on others to help us arrive at our destination. Our eyes are also opened by our elders in Christ. I believe that we are all on the same path and we are guiding each other to the place where the Bible calls home...the "New Jerusalem."
Stay tuned...
